On Monday I met up with fellow bloggers (and fashionistas!) Vivian and Jontte to do some photoshoots in honor of summer. We left as early as 9 am to Ruissalo, where I we also did the photoshoot for one of my styles in the Tähtistailaaja-competition. This time, however, the weather was beautiful and we spent a few hours just switching outfits, taking pictures and enjoying the scenery. We decided to just pick out whatever we liked from our closets and then build up the outfits while we are there, and so I just took all my summer clothes out and stuffed them in a bag - even to my own surprised I had only light colors with me, and my accessories were very down-to-earth as well. Like Jontte and Vivi said, I was quite a hippie the whole day! 

I was really feeling all the light and beige colors, and I was totally obsessed with these Ozzy-glasses I got from eBay a few months ago. Together with some fringes (and the beautiful dream catcher-earrings I wore for the first time - what a shame!) I did indeed look quite hippie. I wanted to do a beach photoshoot at the beach, which is why there are some bikini photos as well. I really liked my simple yet summer-inspired outfits, what do you guys think?

Maanantaina treffasin kanssabloggaajien (ja fashionistojen!) Vivianin ja Jonten kanssa kuvausmielessä näin kesän kunniaksi. Lähdimme liikenteeseen niinkin aikaisin kuin 9 aamulla ja suuntasimme Ruissaloon, missä tuli otettua myös osa Tähtistailaaja-semifinaalityöni kuvista. Tällä kertaa tosin sää oli paljon suotuisampi ja meillä vierähtikin muutama tunti asujen vaihdossa, kuvien ottamisessa sekä yksinkertaisesti kauniista maisemista nauttiessa. Päätimme, että jokainen ottaa vähän satunnaisesti lempparivaatteita mukaan ja mietitään sitten paikan päällä tarkemmin niitä kokonaisuuksia. Itse tungin vaan satunnaisesti kesävaatteita laukkuun, ja hämmästyin itsekin vähän paikan päällä siitä, miten paljon vaaleita sävyjä ja maaläheisiä koruja mulla oli mukana. Kuten Jontte ja Vivi sanoivat, olin melkoinen hippi koko päivän!

Olin aivan hurmoksissa vaaleista sävyistä, ja vielä enemmän tykkäsin Ozzy-laseistani mitkä tuli muutama kuukausi sitten metsästettyä eBaysta. Yhdessä hapsujen (ja upeiden unisieppari-korvisten mitkä olivat ensimmäistä kertaa korvissa - sääli!) kanssa näytin tosiaan melko hipiltä. Halusin ottaa myös rantakuvia kun kerran rannalla oltiin, mikä selittää bikinikuvat. Itse pidin kovasti yksinkertaisista mutta kesästä inspiroituneista kuvista, mitä mieltä siellä ollaan?

Maison Martin Margiela H&M and other thoughts of the visiting designers

I know these X designer for H&M - lines are always all over the blogs, but I just had to have my own comment about the collaboration and the thoughts gained from it;

Tiedän, että nämä Suunnittelija X for H&M - mallistot ovat aina kuumimpia puheenaiheita kaikissa blogeissa, mutta en vain voinut vastustaa kirjoittaa tästä yhteistyöstä ja sen aiheuttamista ajatuksista;

I don't know about you guys, but in my personal opinion the past two or three big clothing collections (implying Lanvin, Marni and now MMM) is that they have been a little too "high fashion" for the ordinary friends of clothing - a lot of the products in the collections look like they've come straight from the catwalk and even though these are sold for an exclusive H&M price, many of the products are quite pricey (200 euros and up) for the average consumer.
It's hard to talk about other countries or even cities as I have not experienced them regarding this subject, but I remember clearly how here in Turku some of the clothes and jewelry of Marni for H&M were months after release still in the stores with a huge discount, and yet they didn't go anywhere. I'm sure there are still numerous people interested in these clothes that for example MMM has to offer, but lately I've felt that H&M has given a little too free hands for the designers to make whatever they want, and unfortunately some of the things created are not exactly the ones you can see or imagine too people wearing down the streets, for example this jacket.
Don't get me wrong here; of course I think it's good for the designers that they get to express themselves in the best way, but I can't help but to wonder how much does H&M gain from this. Maybe in other countries the clothes are still extremely popular and sold out, but from what I've seen here I just don't think it's been worthwhile for these couple collaborations.

On the positive side, I must say that even though the clothes of MMM are not exactly "my cup of tea", I just love the shoes with the plastic heel! Also the white sneakers are amazing, not the mention the candy wrap-clutches in both pink (as in the collage) and silver. Unfortunately these aren't exactly to my budget, so I'll just keep on dreaming...

What do you guys think about the collections H&M has had lately, does anyone agree with me? 

And most importantly, what do you think about MMM H&M?

En tiedä teistä, mutta oma henkilökohtainen mielipiteeni kahdesta tai kolmesta viimeisimmästä suuresta kokoelmasta (tarkoittaen Lanvinia, Marnia sekä nyt MMM:aa) on se, että ne ovat olleet hieman liian "high fashion" vaatteiden tavallisille ystäville - monet tuotteista näyttävät siltä kuin ne olisivat tulleet suoraan catwalkilta, ja vaikka tuotteita myydään erikoiseen H&M hintaan ne ovat silti melko hintavia (tarkoittaen 200 euroa ja ylöspäin) keskivertokuluttajalle.

On vaikea puhua muista maista tai jopa kaupungeista sillä en ole kokenut asiaa liittyen tähän aiheeseen, mutta muistan selkeästi miten täällä Turussa jotkut Marnin vaatteet ja korut olivat kuukausia malliston saapumisenkin jälkeen myynnissä jättimäisellä alennuksella, ja siltikään ne eivät menneet kaupaksi. Olen varma, että maailmassa on silti lukuisia ihmisiä jotka ovat kiinnostuneet näistä vaatteista mitä esimerkiksi MMM:lla on tarjottavana, mutta viime aikoina minusta on tuntunut siltä että H&M on antanut ehkä hieman liiankin vapaat kädet suunnitteilijoille jotka tekevät mitä haluavat, ja valitettavasti osa luomuksista eivät ole ihan sitä mitä voisit nähdä ja kuvitella meidän tavallisten pulliaisten käyttävän kadulla, esimerkiksi tämä takki. 

Älkää ymmärtäkö minua väärin; tottakai mielestäni on mahtavaa, että suunnittelijat saavat toteuttaa itseään ja näyttämään omat piirteensä, mutta en voi muuta kuin ihmetellä kuinka paljon H&M hyötyy tästä. Ehkä muissa maissa nämä vaatteet ovat huippusuosittuja ja revitään käsistä, mutta sen perusteella mitä olen täällä nähnyt niin en koe, että nämä viimeaikaiset yhteistyömallistot ovat olleet kaiken vaivan arvoisia.

Positiivisuuden nimissä minun täytyy sanoa, että vaikka nämä MMM:n vaatteet eivät olekaan ihan täysin oma juttuni niin olen aivan hulluna noihin kenkiin missä on läpinäkyvät muovikorot! Myös valkoiset lenkkarit ovat aivan upeat, puhumattakaan karkkipaperi-clutcheista mitkä löytyy sekä pinkkinä (kuten kollaasissa) että hopeisena. Valitettavasti nämä ovat hieman yli budjettini, joten jatkan unelmointia...

Mitä mieltä te olette H&M:n viimeaikaisista yhteistyömallistoista, onko kukaan samaa mieltä kanssani?

Picked out some new and old clothes, accessories and shoes from my closet to represent my fall 2012 - warm sweaters, burgundy, checks, faux fur, golden accessories, black leather, boots and of course Lita Spikes. Anyone else ready for fall?

Poimisin sekä uusia että vanhoja vaatteita, asusteita sekä kenkiä kaapistani edustamaan omaa tyyliäni syksyllä 2012 - lämpimät neuleet, viininpunainen, ruudut, tekoturkis, kultaiset asusteet, musta nahka, saappaita sekä tietysti Lita Spiket. Onko kukaan muu valmis syksyyn?

new magazine

 

 I found this great new magazine called Costume yesterday while shopping with my mom. The first number was only 2 euros, so I just had to buy it and check it out.

 I really liked this magazine, since it was only about fashion and clothes so I found it very interesting. It also had some famous finnish bloggers such as Aurora and Marianna, and I am a fan of both of them. I was, however, a bit disappointed that the editorial pictures from the magazine were from the Danish and Norwegian versions of Costume, since I was hoping that they would had made their own ones. Hopefully that will change, since I will definitely check this one out in the future aswell! 

Löysin tämän uuden Costume-nimisen lehden eilen ruokaostoksilla äitini kanssa. Ensimmäinen numero oli vain 2 euroa, joten oli vain pakko ostaa luettavaksi.

 Pidin kovasti Costumesta, sillä se oli keskittynyt vain ja ainoastaan muotiin sekä vaatteisiin joten pidin sitä hyvin mielenkiintoisena. Lehdessä on myös muutamia suomalaisia bloggareita kuten Aurora sekä Marianna, joiden molempien blogeja olen lukenut. Olin kuitenkin hieman pettynyt, että lehden editorial-kuvat ovat Costumen tanskalaisista ja norjalaisista versioista, sillä olisin toivonut suomalaisia kuvia. Toivottavasti siihen tulee vielä muutos, sillä aion ehdottomasti tutustua lehteen vielä tarkemmin jatkossakin!
